The recipe you need for Lobster
Unlock Lobster by choosing Shanks's cooking idea and combining a Main Dish Recipe with Rare Seafood Ingredients. Shanks arrives after you complete page 10 of the achievement list; his Lobster makes Doflamingo a fan and is separate from Pagaya's Grilled Sky Lobster.
Lobster vs Grilled Sky Lobster
These are different main dishes with different idea sources and ingredients. Their starting prices match, so use the full dish name and recipe to identify the one you need.

Bring Shanks to the restaurant
Complete page 10 of the achievement list to bring Shanks and the other Red Hair Pirates to the restaurant. This puts Lobster behind late achievement progression. Having its ingredients ready does not replace the need for Shanks's idea.
That page includes the goal to make 225 different dishes. Finish the remaining goals shown on the page as well, rather than stopping when the dish goal is complete. While you work toward Shanks, develop other available recipes and gather the materials for Lobster.
Sanji is available from the start and handles new-dish development. Shanks supplies the Lobster idea, so you do not need to replace Sanji as your chef. Keep those roles separate when choosing whom to select in the cooking menu.
Collect the recipe card and rare seafood
For an early Main Dish Recipe, visit Arlong Park or Orange Town in the Sea of Beginnings. Each destination awards that recipe card on its first trip. Check your existing cards before making another trip specifically for this requirement.
Rare Seafood Ingredients come from the Flying Fish Riders' Hideout in sea 4 and Whole Cake Island in sea 7. You can collect these materials before Shanks arrives. Choose an accessible destination and make sure you collect the rare ingredient named in the recipe.
Open Menu → Actions → Go Out to send a crew member on an outing. Outings continue while the restaurant is open and return ingredients and other rewards. If low crew levels block further discovery, train with Zoro and revisit the destination.
Cook Lobster with Shanks's idea
- Finish page 10 of the achievement list and let Shanks arrive at the restaurant. If he has not arrived, return to the page and check its remaining goals.
- Have a Main Dish Recipe and Rare Seafood Ingredients ready. Ordinary Seafood Ingredients and Sky Island Ingredients do not match the Lobster recipe.
- Open Menu → Shop → New Dish, then select Shanks when his cooking idea is available.
- Choose Main Dish Recipe as the recipe card and Rare Seafood Ingredients as the ingredient. Check the exact ingredient name before continuing.
- Review the possible dishes, select Lobster, and confirm with Sanji. If the combination offers several results, choose the dish by its full name.
Make Grilled Sky Lobster with Pagaya
Follow this recipe when you want Grilled Sky Lobster or are following its connection to Conis. It uses Pagaya's idea and Sky Island Ingredients. Check those names before spending materials intended for Shanks's Lobster.
- Reach sea 3 and visit Skypiea to collect Sky Island Ingredients. Its first-trip rewards also include a Main Dish Recipe.
- When Pagaya has a cooking idea available, open Menu → Shop → New Dish and select him as the idea source.
- Combine Main Dish Recipe with Sky Island Ingredients, then select Grilled Sky Lobster from the possible results and confirm with Sanji.
The flamingo-lobster connection
The flamingo-lobster search refers to Doflamingo's fan condition: unlock Lobster using Shanks's idea. It does not identify an additional lobster recipe. Making Grilled Sky Lobster follows a different recipe and does not fulfill this condition.
If Doflamingo is your goal, prioritize Shanks's achievement requirement and the Lobster procedure above. His condition is unlocking the dish. After developing it, check his fan status before spending time changing your served set menus.
Check why the recipe is missing
- Check greyed-out materials. Missing items appear greyed out in the cooking menu, so return to gathering if the required recipe card or ingredient is unavailable.
- Check the result before confirming. A recipe-card and ingredient combination can offer several dishes, so matching the materials alone is not the final selection.
- Check endorsements separately from ideas. Lobster carries Sanji's seal of approval, while Grilled Sky Lobster carries Chopper's; those endorsements do not change their idea sources.
